Crean Microscopio en un Chip
Investigadores de Caltech, lograron desarrollar un microscopio en un chip (verdaderamente compacto, 1.5 cm de tamaño). La tecnología utilizada es completamente diferente a la usada hasta ahora. Se piensa que será una herramienta muy útil para el mundo en desarrollo, por ejemplo, para diagnosticar enfermedades en zonas alejadas.
“Our research is motivated by the fact that microscopes have been around since the 16th century, and yet their basic design has undergone very little change and has proven prohibitively expensive to miniaturize. Our new design operates on a different principle and allows us to do away with lenses and bulky optical elements”, Changhuei Yang, profesor asistente de ingeniería eléctrica y bioningeniería en Caltech.
